Hangin out in Puertollano with my novio :)

So I'm very behind with my postings seeing how my novio (boyfriend), Cliff, came to visit more than a month ago.  He was here two weeks, one being my spring break week vacation.  We had a great time traveling Spain together.
Here is the first night in Puertollano after he arrived.  Toasting with a little cava (champagne) in the Paseo San Gregorio town center :)

Here is where we tried for the first time a clara con limon ("light with lemon", meaning half light beer and half lemon soda).   Very refreshing!  Typically ordered here in Spain.

My great friends invited Cliff and me out to dinner.  Here we are at the Irish pub after. We have Inma, Armando, Esther and Sebas.  I'm glad they got to meet Cliff!

During my regularly scheduled hour of English conversation with Armando at work, he offered to take Cliff and me to the Miner Museum of Puertollano. Very interesting, especially since we were able to go down into a replica mine!

There was a lot of Puertollano history in the museum and here is a cool picture talking about the Black Plague affecting the village.

Many of Puertollano's coal miner workers back in the day.

Some of my students and me on the last day before spring break.  It was my last day teaching my Easter in the U.S. culture lesson with my Easter basket and plastic Easter eggs. :)  They loved it!!

Not sure if I have mentioned this at all before in any posts, but Puertollano has a special landmark called La Fuente Agria (Literally means the bitter fountain).  It has been around forEVER and many people bring empty bottles and jugs to fill them up with the water.  People say that only people from Puertollano like the water, that people from outside the city or country dislike it.  I tried it and it tastes like carbonated iron water--wasn't the nastiest thing I've ever tasted, but I wouldn't be like mmm give me a glass.

Anyway the well-known concept is that anyone from outside the village who drinks the water WILL return back to Puertollano at some point in their life.  So here, Cliff is drinking the water.  Guess we'll be coming back!!  The water legend says so!

Out for drinks and tapas with some friends from work.

Judith and me.

Cliff and Carlos----Two handsome looking tios!! (guys)

Spain isn't usually into spicy food, HOWEVER, this tapa was hands down one of the spiciest things I've ever had!  Don't remember the name---probably spicy death on bread.

He blends in!!

On top of Puertollano :)
