Puertollano Meets the Thomases

I wasn't sure if Puertollano could handle the Thomas fam.... :)

But Puertollano pulled through with an outstanding performance.  An amazing welcoming for my parents and brother.  My friends, colleagues at school, my students....everyone went above and beyond on the welcoming committee.  In fact, the directors at my school arranged a welcome breakfast for my family.  All of the bilingual teachers plus some good friends of mine from other departments put together an amazingly warm and welcoming coffee social gathering.  My mom said they felt like royalty.  It is true, they made it very special, even down to the detail of putting both the American and Spanish flags on the table.  It meant so much to me.  Thank you to everyone who was a part of it.

Outside of the work environment, some good friends, Lola and Alex, invited my family and me for coffee at their apartment.  Also, my good friends Armando and Esther invited us out to dinner.  No pictures, but worth mentioning because it was so incredibly generous and nice of them all.

And of course, my Friday night crew got together to meet the fam!!!  Although this time, everyone took time out of their busy weeks and met on a Wednesday instead of the normal Friday.  The whole group is seen below.  Love these guys!!!

And who would have thought the topic of Clint Eastwood  would instantly bring my parents and friends even closer together!  Who needs a common language when everyone can just speak in Clint Eastwood movies titles, quotes, songs and gestures!!!  Hysterical!!!
